We are off!
Hi all ... On Sunday we are off on our journey.
Which begins like this:
1. Sunday 9am meet at TAS for a bus ride to LAX
2. Sunday 1.30 off to Atlanta arriving 8.30p.
3. Sunday 8.30p off to Israel.
4. After an 11.5 hour flight ...Arrive Israel 5.30p Monday!
From first flight take off to last flight landing ... 18 hours (not counting travel time to the airport, check-in, customs, getting to the hotel, etc.)
Wow, I'm tired already and we haven't even begun ... But we are all SO excited!
Just so you can know what to expect here:
We will try to post thoughts and insights here from various members of the trip.
We will upload a favorite daily photo or two as well.
Remember, Israel is 10 hours ahead of you ... so when you are waking up in the morning, we are getting ready for dinner. And when you are having dinner we are fast asleep. (Hopefully)
You can post your own comments or questions and we will attempt to answer.
I hope that this way you can all enjoy our trip with us ... and maybe plan to join me for our next one!
Talk to you soon from the Holy Land, Rabbi Lutz
Comments:We just wanted to be the first to say HAVE A WONDERFUL TRIP!!! Jean and I look forward to reading your blog and hearing how you are all doing. Hi Rabbi Lutz and everyone on the trip. I'd say I hope you are having fun, but as I write this you are probably boarding your Israel bound flight in Atlanta getting ready for a long night. Even so I am a bit jealous. Have a wonderful trip I am going to try to be one of your regular readers. I think your trip is the beginning of research for a future Hoffman Family trip to Israel in 2-3 years. If by chance you see this before you land keep your eyes open for Judy Hoffman. She arrives home from Israel around midnight Monday/Tuesday, perhaps your paths will cross in the airport. Lots of love and good wishes.

Dear Liora, Eliana, Emily and Rachel,
I hope you are all having a great time. I can't wait to hear about your trip when you get home.
Your Friend,
Adam
We saw a short clip from CNN in Israel and thought we noticed Arnold selling bagels and coffee in front of the Sheraton Dan-good work! The cameras also panned to a group of ladies hiking about looking for an outlet mall in the old city-I think it was Lila,Debi C. and Russ S.(it is a city of miracles!)leading the way with sheckles in hand. Glad to see you're all having fun! Happy 4th!!
Hi to all
had an Idea--Is there any way we can do a photo exhibition of trip photos at Temple. Each person on trip can choose max of 2-3 photos and they be posted as an exhibit at the temple for Cong viewing. (no not a contest--just an exhibition) 8X10 prints of each persons 2 or 3 what they consider best (best can be most meaningful as well as best from a view standpoint)?
Anyone interested?
Regards and have a wonderful trip
Al
Hi all, I am glad that you are all having a great time. Sorry we could not be with you (maybe next time.
Please give a special hi to the Snow's and the Alban's (not to slight anyone else but they are part of our Havurah)
Rabbi, please let Chuck know that even though I went to the Dodger game tonight they still won.
